VISCOTAQ passes 5 psi pressure test for casing end seals at Mears Engineering.
The VISCOTAQ system for casing end seals was applied on a 30 inch pipe with a 34 inch casing. The 30 inch pipe was placed in an angle and was off center. The application took approximately 1 hour per side. The system was pressure tested at 5 psi and no air leaks were found. Since not many products can handle this application, with the pipe off center, VISCOTAQ can be regarded as an easy to install, waterproof and long term solution for casing end seals.

VISCOTAQ showed zero disbondment on the cathodic disbondment tests according to ASTM G8. Combined with self healing properties, VISCOTAQ can be regarded as one of the few non shielding field applied coating systems.

"What happens when VISCOTAQ is undergoing shearing effects from soil stress?" We asked this question to an independent laboratory, Charter Coatings, in Calgary. Charter Coating managed to come up with an agressive shear test based upon existing simulations. VISCOTAQ showed "excellent resilience to shear".

Through DSC measurement and lab testing, the upper limit temperature of VISCOTAQ HT product has been adjusted to 100 degrees Celcius (212 Fahrenheit). From minus 40 degrees Celcius to 137 degrees Celcius, the material showed a stable curve. The melting point was determined at 158 degrees Celcius.

Amcorr Products and Services succesfully ran a subsea test for its VISCOTAQ product line. The test was carried out by applying the material and simulating pressures for subsea applications (5800 psi). The product showed excellent adhesion while no undercreep of water was found.
